A three-game win streak briefly gave the Kenwood softball team a winning record before this season’s Bluebird nemesis dropped the team back to .500.
Kenwood lost at Lansdowne on Thursday to drop its record to 6-6.
It was the Bluebird’s second loss to the Vikings this season. Kenwood lost to visiting Lansdowne 15-2 on March 26.
With the exception of a 15-4 loss at Perry Hall, the Bluebirds losses have been close: five runs to Sparrows Point and Catonsville, one run to Dulaney.
Kenwood was to play Eastern Tech on Monday, then close the regular season against Perry Hall on Tuesday, at Carver A&T on Wednesday and against Towson on Friday.
Kenwood capped its three-game winning streak and climbed over .500 with a 15-2 win at Dundalk on April 24.

A walk, single and an error loaded the bases with no outs in the sixth. A run scored on a wild pitch, then two more runs came home on a single and an error.
Madison Sheppard brought home a run with a bunt single, and Cheyenne Robicheaux smashed a three-run home run to deep left.
Margaret Foor had led off the second inning with a home run to eft to give Kenwood a 2-0 lead. The Bluebirds added two more runs that inning off a sacrifice by Sydni Maul and Robicheaux’s bases-loaded walk.
Sheppard drove in a run in the fourth, and Robicheaux had an RBI double that inning.
A two-run single by Maul in the fifth inning gave Kenwood an 8-1 lead.
Dundalk had runners on second and third with two outs in the fourth while trailing 6-0. One run scored on a wild pitch, but Sheppard’s third strikeout of the inning ended the Owl rally.
