The baseball fields at Eastern Tech and Kenwood high schools haven’t seen real use since May 2019. And it shows.

With the cancellation of this past spring’s high school sports season due to the COID-19 pandemic, and the restriction on rec council sports, both ballfields have sat unused for 15 months and counting.

Nature, as always, seeks to reclaim what man abandons.

Grass growing on the infield dirt is a common occurrence in the offseason. Baltimore County grounds crews routinely remove the grass prior to the start of a new season.

Should sports return in the spring, so shall the infield dirt.
