Baltimore County Resident passes away to COVID-19

BALTIMORE COUNTY — A Baltimore County resident has passed away from COVID-19. He was in his 60’s and had underlying health conditions.

At the time of press, this isa the first Baltimore County resident and second Marylander to die from COVID-19.

Governor Hogan said he and the entire state, “send our heartfelt condolences to his family and to all those who loved him.”

Hogan said the number of cases continue to rise in Maryland and that everyone needs to take it seriously.

“This is a public health crisis like nothing we have ever faced before—we are all in this together, and we will get through this together.”

Following Hogan’s response, County Executive Johny Olszewski said he too grieves for the family and hopes everyone realizes how important it is to follow all the regulations that have been issued in order to slow the spread of the virus.

“My prayers are with all those who lost a loved one tonight. This sad passing is a stark reminder of the seriousness of the crisis we face, and it breaks my heart to know that this will not be the last life we lose to this pandemic,” Olszewski said.

“That is why, even as we grieve, we also each need to do our part to reduce the spread and flatten the curve. Stay home. Practice social distancing. Those failing to do their part only add to the toll this crisis will take. We can save lives, but only if we take this seriously and continue to work together.”
