Baltimore County Department of Recreation & Parks would like to invite you to participate in the first “Boo Thru” event. With the COVID pandemic, the parks and rec department is striving to provide a safe, enjoyable alternative for the children in our community to enjoy the Halloween experience.
The local Boo Thru Event will be held on Friday, October 23, 2020 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the North Point Government Center.
Local organizations and businesses are invited to bring a tent and set up on our parking lot at our Regional Community Centers in the North, West, Northeast, and Southeast areas of the county.
Areas will be socially distanced for this event. Parents will drive through the parking lot, allowing their children to trick or treat at each tent, while safely remaining in their car. To illuminate the Halloween spirit, tent decorating and wearing of costumes is encouraged to make this a memorable and festive event for the children.
The goal is to have at least twenty organizations and businesses sign up so that the department can start advertising the event.
Due to COVID, face covering and gloves are to be worn by the person in each group who will approach the cars, handing out treats. Pre-wrapped, store bought candy or gift certificates are appropriate.
Thank you in advance for your consideration to participate in what will hopefully be an important, enjoyable event for the children in our communities.
If your organization or business would like to join in the fun, please call 410-887-3465.
