ESSEX — Teachers play a vital role in making sure children grow up to be the best versions of themselves, but they rarely get to see their students once they become adults.

However, a group of Kenwood High School alumni made sure to reach out to one of their former teachers in order to thank her and allow her to reminisce about the 30 years she taught at Kenwood High School.

Miss Nancy Ball returned to tour Kenwood High School last week with her former students. Miss Ball taught at Kenwood from 1960 to 1990.

When asked about her memories at Kenwood, Miss Ball responded, “I have a lot of fond memories here including the students but, also I do remember being in room 220 when the announcement was made of the President Kennedy assassination.”

After the tour the group proceeded to Pizza John’s for lunch when Miss Ball was greeted by another 30 students.

We thank Miss Ball for her service as a teacher and all the teachers who are working and who have worked at our local schools!
