A meeting was held on Jan. 23 to discuss the ongoing problems at Back River Wastewater Treatment Plant as well as flooding in Turner Station and Miller’s Island.
I, along with members of Baltimore County Delegation and the Baltimore County State Senate, met with Dr. Charles Glass from Maryland Environmental Service and the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE).
We discussed the ongoing problems at Back River Wastewater Treatment Plant. I was encouraged with the bipartisan meeting.
A representative from the Baltimore County Executive Office spoke on flooding in Turner Station.
Baltimore County and the Army Corps of Engineers are planning to do a study at Turner Station. That is great but I also brought it to their attention of the flooding that is taking place in Miller’s Island and I’m requesting a study at that site also.
Our waterways must be preserved and we will continue to hold Back River Wastewater Treatment Plant accountable.
