SPOTTED: Peyton Schwinn & Lily Heffler were picking up trash in their community near the Essex branch of BayVanguard Bank last week.

Kelly Bowman, of BayVanguard Bank and board member of the Dundalk Chamber of Commerce, met two heroes of early summer doing good deeds in their community recently.

“I was at the branch in Essex, and I saw these two girls walking around with a cart, gloves and a balloon,” she said. “They were picking up trash, so I was watching this and went to see what this was about and took a picture.”

Turns out, the girls love their pets so much that they had the bright idea on a warm afternoon to clean up around their community “for the animals.”

Bowman, and the staff of The Avenue News — including our office dog, Maybelle, were so impressed by these young go-getters and their infectious positivity, we just had to feature them.

“Can you imagine?” asked Bowman. “These girls just got out of school for the summer and this is what they are doing? When I got out of school for the summer, I was not picking up trash to better my community. I was ready to play!”

Thanks so much to these hometown heroes. Keep up the good work!
