Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Wagoner of McGrady, North Carolina recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. A barbeque was held at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Susie Stark with family and friends attending. Special guests included Mrs. Lucy Griggs, of Salisbury, NC, (sister of Mrs. Wagoner), and Mr. & Mrs. Houston & Retha Bruce of Statesville, NC (sister and brother-in-law of Mr. Wagoner), along with other relatives and friends.

Freeman H. Wagoner and Clara Jean Adams were married on July 30th, 1952 by the Reverend Monroe Dillard at his home in Mulberry, NC. They moved to Baltimore, Maryland shortly thereafter, set up their home, and raised their family there. After many years, Freeman & Clara Jean moved back to McGrady, NC. Mr. Wagoner is a retired supervisor of grounds maintenance from the Baltimore County Board of Education, and Mrs. Wagoner is a retired cook from the school system as well.

The couple have four children, Rebecca Sue, and her husband Robert Stark, of Wilkesboro North Carolina, Freeman Wagoner Jr, of Middle River, Maryland, Rita Fay Wagoner, and her husband Barry West, of Hickory, North Carolina, and Frances Doreen Wagoner, of Germantown, Ohio. They are the proud grandparents of 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. They are the pillar of strength of our family and have shown us that family, and love, is enduring.
