The Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum at Martin State Airport is recruiting volunteers for assisting in hosting visitors to its Open Cockpit Days.

These 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. events are held the third Saturdays of the summer months in September.

Special Event Volunteers can commit to one event a year or more, depending upon their availability. Volunteer stations include greeting visitors, presenting the safety brief, bus hosts, and working with a seasoned volunteer at an open aircraft on the outside flightline moving the flow of visitors as they explore the inside of the airplanes.

The Museum has been hosting visitors for 26 years and works to preserve and promote the aviation and aerospace history of Maryland. As the Museum expands its special events and education programming, more folks are needed to assist in hosting public visitors for daily or special events, working with school groups, and maintaining the Museum’s artifact collection for providing visitors a quality experience. To volunteer, call 410-682-6122.
