ESSEX — Quon’te Moore, 22, of Essex, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute at least 28 grams of cocaine base. If the court accepts the plea agreement, Moore will be sentenced to 42 months in federal prison.

The charges stem from a series of incidents that took place from December 2019 to September 2020 near 2600 block of Greenmount Avenue and 400 East Lorraine Street, according to a press release. Moore’s drug trafficking organization allegedly operated a “drug shop” in the area.

The press release states that Moore sold cocaine base on several occasions to two confidential informants, including one instance in which an informant purchased two vials with a substance that later tested positive for cocaine.

Moore agreed that the amount of cocaine base sold was “reasonably foreseeable,” the standard for drug conspiracy. He also agreed that a firearm was part of and furthered the conspiracy.

Moore’s sentencing hearing has not yet been scheduled.
