We have received numerous calls and complaints about the lack of Postal Service in Dundalk and Essex.
It has been a year since Dundalk reported problems and now we are getting calls that Essex has slow mail service also.
This is unacceptable. We have worked with Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger’s office on fixing this problem and his office has been very responsive.
In the meantime, I would recommend all citizens in the Dundalk and Essex areas to use other services until the mail service is more consistent.
Medication can be ordered through carriers such as FedEx and UPS or Amazon.
I would also recommend to use automatic bill pay.
I am aware not everyone does not have a computer, but try to pay your bills online if you have that opportunity.
If you have been charged a late payment, please contact your billing company to explain that the bill was mailed on time, but may have arrived late.
That company might try to work with you if you explain the situation.
And please contact the three major credit bureaus; TransUnion, Equifax and Experian to see if your credit score has been altered because of these late fees or if your payment did not arrive at its destination.
Notify those three companies to explain about the poor mail service.
Let’s hope the mail service gets back to normal, but let’s also take steps to limit the amount of mail service that we depend on when possible.
