We have had our lives changed over the past 14 months. Last week, Gov. Larry Hogan announced that the mask mandate has been lifted for indoors and outdoor events, of course, each business has the right to still ask patrons to wear a mask and each jurisdiction can follow and are permitted to follow the state guidelines. I am glad County Executive John Olszewski has agreed to allow Baltimore County to follow the state.
I would hope that everyone has or is in the process of receiving the COVID vaccine. There are a lot of false information out there about the side effects of the vaccine. I encourage everyone to do their own research and make a personal decision based on facts. Also, consult with your doctor if you have any concerns and don’t listen to the false information.
Let’s also give credit to President Donald Trump for Operation Warp Speed. His administration worked tirelessly to get the process up and running to vaccinate Americans.
I know of his hard work because I had the honor to take part in the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs National COVID-19 Briefings that set up the logistics to distribute vaccine.
It was a pleasure to work with the Trump Administration as we were told about the infrastructure that was in place for the vaccine starting last May. The vaccine was released in early December and we are almost back to normal less than six months after the vaccine and a year after the arrival of COVID. This is no less than a miracle. Prayers do work. I would just like to personally thank everyone from the scientists to the truck drivers for all their hard work.
