DUNDALK-- Two former Girl Scout leaders in the Dundalk area are seeking other former area Girl Scouts to hold a potential reunion this fall.

"We've been wanting to do it for years, but never knew how to do it," Mary Jean Perzynski, who was a scout leader in the late 1940s and early 1950s, said over the phone on Tuesday.

Perzynski and her longtime friend, Mildred Kottraba, who was a community director for the Girl Scouts in the 1970s and a leader prior to that, are trying to get the attention of old scouts from the Dundalk, Edgemere and Sparrows Point area for a get-together.

"We were very involved in scouting," Kottraba, who was known as "Ms. M" in scouts, said of her family. "The girls called my dad pappy, because he was always driving us" to scouting events.

Kottraba and Perzynski were involved in the old Troop 55, an intermediate Girl Scout troop in Edgemere, but they said they wanted to hear from Girl Scouts from all over the area who were involved in the 50s, 60s, 70s or 80s.

"I think if we don't try, we don't know who will come," Kottraba said.

Former Girl Scouts should call Perzynski at (410) 285-4488 or Kottraba at (410) 477-1290 before July 28 for more information.
