ESSEX — On Nov. 9, Boy Scout Troop 745 went to the Fire Museum of Maryland in Lutherville to work on the troop’s Fire Safety Merit Badge. Attending the Fire Safety Workshop were Blake Ament, Caleb Ament, Aaden Pouncy, Tyler Cresta, and David Williams. The boys had a productive evening learning about fire prevention; how to stop, drop, and roll; the most frequent causes of home fires; how to make a fire for cooking outside; the safest way of putting out a fire; among other things. After the course and earning the Fire Safety Merit Badge, the boys helped the firefighters move a sled in the main room preparing for the Christmas display and garden. The troop was also taken on a tour of the museum to see all the vintage fire trucks and learn about the Great Baltimore Fire that happened on Feb. 7, 1904.
