ESSEX — On Saturday July 31, 2021 Boy Scout Troop 745 took a hike in Susquehanna State Park in Havre de Grace in preparation for their 9 mile Historic Trails Award they are working toward in September. They hiked the Rock Run Historic Area which was originally called Stafford. The trail composed of the 1804 Stone House of Brigadier General James J. Archer, CSA who died from sickness at the ripe old age of 46, 1800 Rock Run Grist Mill, 1801 Spring House, and other structures built in the 1800’s.

Afterwards the boys had lunch at the Vintage Café where they make old fashioned Root Beer Floats, etc. The boys had a great time in hiking a historic trail and preparing for their 9 mile hike in September.

On Tuesday, August 3, 2021 the Scouts participated in National Night out at Sussex Elementary School to bring the community together.

The next trip will be in August when the boys and their families will take a trip to Hershey Park.
