Family Fun Day Celebrates Women in Aviation
Family Fun Day celebrates women in aviation at the Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum on Saturday, March 11 during 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. visiting hours. Making a pink paper airplane and testing its flight capabilities is one of several activities offered, also a tour of the outdoor flightline, weather permitting. Zion Evangelical Lutheran United Church of Christ, located at 7146 Golden Ring Road in Essex, will be holding a used book sale and thrift shop from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Feb. 11 and monthly on second Saturdays in the church hall.

CCBC partners with BCPS to host College Fair
Community College of Baltimore County, in co-sponsorship with Baltimore County Public Schools, is hosting College Fair 2023 at CCBC-Dundalk and CCBC-Catonsville during the month of March. Representatives from more than 100 universities, colleges, proprietary and military schools will be available to speak with students and parents.

The next Vernal Equinox is Monday, March 20 at 5:43 a.m. Learn more about the equinox, if the days and nights are really exactly equal, and what’s so special about where the sun rises and sets. This show is suitable for adults and children over the age of 8. (Outside observing afterwards, weather permitting.)

This is a fundraiser event hosted by Chesaco UMC, located at 901 Chesaco Ave. in Rosedale. From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on April 1, there will be a chicken dinner, which includes dessert and a drink. The Chesapeake Gateway Chamber of Commerce and Marine Trades Association of Baltimore County proudly presents the Bull and Shrimp Feast. Open Cockpit Day
It’s a fun day on the Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum’s outdoor flightline day! During this Open Cockpit Day, visitors will experience an up close view of the aircraft’s interiors as the shuttle buses transport visitors from the Hangar 5 exhibit galleries to the outdoor flightline at Strawberry Point on Martin State Airport 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. See inside fighter jets, including a Top Gun Skyhawk aircraft, a Huey helicopter, Turbomentor, Martin Canberra, walk through a 1952 passenger plane built at Martin’s in Middle River. Lots of fun for all ages, where memories and imaginations take flight. The indoor exhibit galleries are open until 3 p.m. Today is a Special Event Admission Fee day at $8 for adults and $5 for children. Rain date is April 22. The Maryland School for the Blind (MSB) will host the second annual See Beyond Festival on Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its campus (3501 Taylor Ave, Nottingham, MD 21236). This free event will build upon the success of the inaugural festival, offering an even wider selection of activities, entertainment, and food options, while once again encouraging people of all ages to learn to “see beyond” vision loss and discover how adaptable they are.

CCBC-Essex spring open house
Community College of Baltimore County will host three open houses this spring on campus. Open houses will be held 9 a.m., Saturday, March 25 at CCBC Catonsville; 10 a.m., Saturday, April 22 at CCBC Dundalk, and 10 a.m., Saturday, May 6 at CCBC Essex.
Attendees will have the opportunity to talk with admissions staff, learn more about CCBC’s academic programs, ask questions about admissions, financial aid, and student services and tour the CCBC campus. Prospective students can apply for admission on site.

Hawthorne/Kenwood alumni reunion is being held on Sept. 30, 2023, at Wilson Point Men’s Club located at 1400 Shore Road in Middle River from 1 p.m. till 5 p.m. The event is for anyone who grew up in Hawthorne or went to Kenwood High School.
