The Bay Area Shuckers is a second-year franchise team for the American Professional Basketball League (APBL). In their first year, the won a place in the post-season playoffs but just good enough to earn a first week bye.

This year, the team has improved its overall stats and, with two games to play in the regular season, they have clinched their Division title -- Colonial Division Champions.

A big shout out to the team, coaches and owners. JOB WELL DONE! Several players have also won league honors throughout the season, such as our own Terry Hosley (Maryland Bible College). Hosley has won Team Players of the Game on more than one occasion and has won League Player of the Week as well. Hosley’s humble beginnings include the Stembridge Recreation Center and CCBC-Essex. Needless to say, The Avenue News is proud to salute Terry Hosley and his teammates as they move into the season’s last regular games and then the playoffs.

The Bay Area Shuckers pro-basketball team plays their home games at the Annapolis Area Christian School in Severn and is owned by Bay Area Sports Inc. Note that two team owners live in Essex and Middle River.

GO SHUCKERS!
